Following my childhood passion for wildlife, I received my BS in Wildlife, Fish, and Conservation Biology with a specialization in Behavioral Ecology from the University of California, Davis. I have 18 years of experience as a museum scientist with MWFB. My expertise lies in vertebrate biodiversity inventories and surveys, museum collections care and management, and vertebrate specimen acquisition and preparation (all vertebrate taxa and methods of preparation). As Collections Manager, I curate and coordinate access to the collections which are heavily used for teaching and research. I also function as field biologist, safety officer, lab manager (USDA BSL2 Certified), permit officer, purchasing agent, educator, and docent. As manager of the MWFB’s Internship Program, I train and mentor dozens of undergraduates annually. I have conducted biodiversity inventories and surveys in Indonesia (SE Sulawesi), Chile, East New Britain, Cambodia, New Zealand and throughout North America, including California, Texas, Washington, North Dakota, New Mexico, Arizona, West Virginia, South Carolina, and Alaska.
